The Waters Edge Grille - Okoboji

This is a brief review of our experience at Waters Edge Grille. We had reservations for a Saturday night at 6:30 and were seated on time. Our drinks were served promptly and were enjoyable, and the salads were good. However, when the ducks we ordered arrived, they were overcooked and resembled boiled old leather. Our waitress offered to replace them but warned that it may take some time due to being busy. Unfortunately, the food had lost its value and remained uneaten. The glass of wine we ordered to accompany the meal arrived late with a complementary dessert. When we received the bill, we felt like we were held hostage in a negative dining experience. In low season in Okoboji, Waters Edge Grille is an acceptable restaurant, but they should consider managing their kitchen and reservations more efficiently in order to provide a better dining experience for their customers. Other well-run establishments are able to address kitchen issues promptly and effectively.

The waiter was attentive, but lacking in knowledge. The food was mediocre at best and the prices were exorbitant for the quality of the dishes. Overall, not impressed.

I would recommend Waters Edge but they did not have our reservation that I made thru open table. My reservation confirmation number was 2109786552. Since they couldn’t find my reservation we had to wait over an hour for a table for two. This greatly diminished our experience since we had other plans after dinner. I have used open table before without any issues so this surprised me.
