Fausto's Italian Kitchen

I've been buying bread and soup from this shop for many years. Best bakery in the northwest suburbs. Wonderful crust on the breads, especially the semolina loaves. The perfect breads for sandwiches which are excellent. The pastas and salads are excellent, as well. The owner is warm and friendly as is the rest of the staff. They have ample space for lunch or an early dinner. And, of course, it's the perfect place for take-out.

Their food has been so good lately. Whoever is in the kitchen is amazing. Service is great. Nice and cozy inside too.

Do not order the Caprese Salad. There's no fresh basil on it. It's on a bed of arugula instead. Not what the menu says and certainly does not match the photo here on Yelp. Two of us ordered the Caprese Salad and were so disappointed that there was no basil. Also, nothing comes with the salads, no small roll of bread or anything.

I've been ordering from Fausto's on and off since I was a teen taking dance classes down the street. Back then my go to was the Caesar salad. It's the perfect Caesar salad. I still get it sometimes because it just hits the spot. Yesterday I got their Italian Beef with hot peppers and a bunch of cannolis for dessert. The Italian Beef was great and came with a container of gravy. That was genius because I love a dipped beef but they don't travel well. The star is always the cannoli. Their cannolis are the best I've found. Everyone else makes a weak tasting filling. But Fausto's is perfect every time.

Pizza and pasta on the patio perfect lunch! Can't go wrong with anything on this menu, exceptional every time.
