Bidra med feedbackWe'd been to this location in the past a few times and loved it. However this time it seems like there has been a huge change. They were out of most things including drinks in the foundation machine which was covered in fruit flies. The food was fast food quality, palatable but super bland. It was like bowling alley food. Very disappointing especially for the price we payed.
In his own words, Chef Graham Bartlett hopes that Taco and Piña serve up Mexican food in, "a non-pretentious and fun environment. "Check and check.Inside you 'll find bold colors, wicker hanging chairs, and pop art plastered onto the walls. Also, they have pretty good Mexican street-style tacos.I stopped by on a recent visit before catching a movie at the Shirlington AMC right around the corner. A friend and I split the giant portions of chips, guac, and salsa. The tub containers of guac and salsa are large enough for you to enjoy and then take the rest home. Both the Ribeye Asada Taco Fried Chicken Tacos came double walled in corn tortillas- a good thing since they were both filled to the brim with meat and toppings. There 's no shortage of Mexican options in Arlington, luckily Taco and Piña 's vibrant style and unique take makes it a stand-out.
The tacos and tostadas at this restaurant are delicious, with tasty toppings and fillings. However, it can be disappointing when they don't have all the items on their menu available. Despite this, it is a good casual spot to enjoy some light snacks at a reasonable price.
I live close by and had some errands to run for lunch in Shirlington. I came across T P on Google and decided to try it out for takeout. I ordered 2 tacos from the popular section of their menu - a fish taco and a chile relleno. The restaurant had a nice interior, but it was quiet on a Tuesday afternoon with no other customers. I hope they can survive in this competitive area because the tacos were delicious. I wish I had taken a picture before devouring them. The tacos were served on two flat tortillas (corn and/or flour?) that you fold and eat. They were a bit messy, but incredibly tasty! The fish taco had a generous piece of lightly breaded catfish and the chile relleno was particularly delicious. I will definitely return to try the shrimp and mushroom tacos in the future.
This restaurant exceeded my expectations! The tacos were really delicious. They may not be traditional, but they are amazing. I tried the fried chicken taco, which had a lot of chicken and big pieces. The ribeye tacos had amazing flavor as well. And don't forget to try the inside out quesadilla - it's a must-have!
