Amaya - Arlington

Had a delicious meal here in 2018 and wanted to come back again to see if it was still as good as I remembered. Despite really mixed reviews, I have to say Amaya is even better than I remember. It’s a casual, friendly eatery and I easily made a reservation for 7 people leading up to my trip to Mexico City. We ordered most of the menu and nearly everything was fantastic: the roast chicken (absolutely incredible and I don’t even like chicken), the soft shell crab, ceviche tostadas, sweet potato, broccoli and cauliflower! The ribeye was fine but we also probably ordered too much. Everyone loved their wines and cocktails. Tremendous kind service. Very fun, delicious dinner. Highly recommend, really confused what the bad reviews are about!

Had a wonderful soft shell crab here. Bread was delicious as well! Met some cool folks at the bar. Great wines.

Eating and service here are exceptional. I have a gluten allergy and all fritted things (like the soft shell cancers) are in a gluten-free flour. we had the crab, brokkoli, sausage and burger. everything was amazing. when they ask for crying through the glass, they give them a taste of them, so they can choose. space is really packed fast!

Great food and great service. the lamb pita and the soft bowl crawl were great. also the strawberry crumble well.
