Bidra med feedbackThe food here is nice , but my husband had tbe mussels as a main course and got 18 small mussels which didnt even fill the mussel pot that my smocked haddock pot came in . This spoilt the whole evening as until then it was going great and starters were very nice. Advised waiter and instead of dealing, he just ignored my husbands comments. Left with a bad feeling unfortunately.
Kimberley is excellent and makes you feel like a VIP. My husband loves the butter here, so Kimberley made sure to accommodate that. My favorite dishes were the Traditional Cullen Skink, Pan-Seared Fillet of Scottish Salmon, and Tablet Ice Cream.
I had a salmon steak in a stew that should have had chorizo which I do not like so the chef made it for me leaving the chorizo out and it was AMAZING I just need to visit again . Also their sticky toffee pudding was light and very very tasty with plenty of toffee sauce and ice cream as was my husband's Belgian waffle..
We wandered into Blasta on Friday night having not known what time we'd get back from our day trip to Iona and Staffa, and of course, nowhere in Oban had seating. But we found our way to Blasta and were some of the only people there. While it doesn't look like much, we were delightfully surprised by the quality of the service and the food. Our server was very helpful and very friendly. And the food was amazing! I had the salmon, and my mom, who doesn't like salmon, tried a piece and said it was the best salmon she'd ever had. And the Thai style mussels were fantastic. It was definitely some of the best food we had on our trip. Don't let the appearances or lack of crowd dissuade you. This isn't the waterfront location, but it was well worth it, especially on busy nights.
We had dinner at Blasta, located in the Royal Hotel. The menu was varied, but we decided to stick with the seafood options. We were not disappointed - the staff was friendly and helpful, and they also had a selection of great beers available.
