The Argenton Hotel

I typically visit a restaurant twice before sharing my thoughts, and I am surprised by the lower ratings from others. While I have not dined here for dinner, my experiences during two lunch visits on weekdays were positive. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and served in a reasonable time frame. The drink options were plentiful, with a variety of choices on tap and in bottles and cans. Although I did not have children with me, the play area seemed appealing for kids ages 4 and older. One piece of constructive feedback based on observations of others ordering the same dish is to ensure consistency in portions, especially when ordering multiple servings of the same dish. Despite this minor issue, I would still rate my experience at this restaurant as 5 stars.

Went there for dinner on Thursday night VERY disappointed first off it took an hour to get our order ( and they weren't busy ) we had the (Angus beef patty, lettuce, tomato, caramelised onion, house pickle, American style burger sauce & cheese on a St Malo milk bun) my husband's was cooked okay, but mine WASN'T cooked properly. the meat was just warm in the middle with the blood still oozing. out when I cut through it, and the so called lettuce was old and wilted , so wouldn't. recommend this place, payed $20 for this and had to take my burger home and cook the meat so it was hot and cooked through,

We visited this restaurant for the kids playground and were pleasantly surprised. While the outdoor seating area was lovely, the bar was on the smaller side. The food was delicious and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meals.

The food was overpriced. $25 for a fishermans platter that had soggy, gluggy, flavourless salt and pepper squid, incredibly greasy "tempura" prawns that were nothing like tempura prawns, and a battered piece of fish that was mostly batter. The bar staff seemed bored and resentful. I've given 2 stars for the playground and shade sail. That's it.
