This restaurant is FABULOUS. It's more a experience that a typical restaurant. The owner is passionate, he loves showing his kitchen and speaking about his pre-inca dishes (even in english) Everything was very good and tasty. Furthermore the location is nice, facing la plaza de...arma.
The place is specialized in pre Inca kitchen. We had the alpaca with some fresh veggies, potatoes and fruit, which was delicious. Service was really personal.
This is a very interesting place to go and try out. When we went the restaurant was empty at lunchtime, so we got to speak to the owner/ chef and were able to see the kitchen. So much attention and detail goes into the preparation...of the meals, the ingredients are carefully selected and all food is cooked in especially designated pots and only specific spoons are used. Good, hearty and simple food using good quality ingredients. Very filling so leave plenty of room. Caters well for vegetarians
This restaurant on the firts floor of Portal de San Agustín on the Plaza de Armas prepares what they call pre Inka cuisine . which means they do not use products briought after the Inca empire like lemon, garlic, etc. They pepare their seviche (as they...write it with passion fruit juice, which is quite nice. They serve different meats (alpaca, duck, .. on vulcanic stoneswith avocado, tomato, sachitomato and andean potatoes. Therir drinks are quite expensive (24 sles for a chilcano, we had beers at 15 soles per bottle, the large one . Service was quite informal (but kind , the waitress came in eating an ice cream and brought the bill licking her ice cream. The view is nioce, on the Plaza de Armas. dishes are arge: we had one ceviche for two (69 soles which was plenty enough. Other dishes were around 51 soles. An original experience, nice food. They have vegetarian dishes as well.
