Best ice cream place in the area Well worth the wait if busy Shakes are my favorite along with cones and sundaes
Highly recommend this spot if you're craving ice cream. They offer a huge variety of flavors. Some do sell out so you can tell those are the most popular. The ice cream is creamy and everything tastes fresh. Our favorite flavor was snickerdoodle cookie dough. We have never seen that flavor anywhere else and had to try it. Omg! It was like magic in a cup! The smooth creamy ice cream with the generous chunks of snickerdoodle dough was absolute bliss. The cookie dough chunks had a lovely gritty texture just like real cookie dough has. It also had a nice light cinnamon flavor. Nothing was overpowering. It was so good that we came here on our last day in the area and grabbed a scoop after spending time at the beach nearby. They have a few tables inside and couple outside. It's a family business which makes it even better! Can't wait to come back!
We were in Santa Cruz for Xmas and we decided to explore a bit and stopped by Marianne's Ice Cream for, ice cream! They have a ton of flavors available so it was kinda hard to choose for me as I want to see all the options there. There were people waiting before and after us and this was the day after Xmas too. It wasn't too busy but I can see this place getting super busy on a weekend night etc. But they have this ticket machine so you just pull a ticket and your number gets called. There are plenty of places to sit inside and maybe two tables outside. I got the banana split which is your classic banana split. Definitely wanna go back to try their actual ice creams next time where in Santa Cruz. It seems like a Santa Cruz staple.
Came here during the week. I didn't know this location existed because I usually go to the one closest to hwy 17. The location is right near Seacliff. They have a parking lot right in front of the entrance. It can be a little tight spaces especially trying to get out. They do have a bigger parking lot across the street, along with street parking. A young man helped us out. They have a number of different sizes to order from, they even can pack some Togo! There's seating with tables in the back, near the bathrooms. The location was clean and pretty decent in size. They take card and cash. We ordered strawberry sorbet (yes they do have dairy free options! My son has a dairy allergy so it's nice to see he can enjoy an ice cream treat with us. Chocolate and green tea. My favorite flavor is green tea, and it's just as great as the ones in The Japanese restaurants. I would def come back to Marianne's especially this location.
