Bidra med feedbackGreat food, very good service and presentation. The building and the setup are very similar to Katsu-Ya. Over all experience is very similar.
Since enjoying numerous positive dining experiences at the downtown Katsu-ya branch, I decided to try out this branch. I visited here a few times to test consistency of the food and I have to say the quality holds up. For the Fox Valley area, I think this is the only restaurant where I 've nigiri, sashimi, and maki whose quality were on par with the ones I 've had when I 've been in Tokyo and downtown Los Angeles. The ingredients are fresh which greatly enhance the tasting experience. It was also to my delight that they had uni and that it was also fresh. The various times I 've been there, I 've had the omakase or on the menu 'nigiri and sashimi Chef Special '. I respect the thought the chefs put into selecting which fish would be best and the arrangements they have to make it as visually appealing as possible. To compliment the prime taste of the fish, their tea and their selection of sake pair well with the meal. I greatly thank the serving staff as they were knowledgeable in what pairings to offer along with explaining which fish the Chef served me. I think this is most well-managed sushi restaurant along with the Katsu-ya branch to grace the Fox Valley area. I never doubt the quality and this is a wonderful place for me to introduce my friends to the wonderful flavorful world of sushi.
The menu here is absolutely delicious! Our server Autumn was a delightful host, very knowledgeable, and managed the entire sushi room flawlessly. Autumn is a true asset to the Nakashima crew.
Great restaurant with a great nighttime vibe. The chef was fantastic and he prepared a wonderful meal. I was with friends and had the dinner for 2, which was more than enough food. Also, for beer I highly recommend the hazelnut stout. I'll be back!
Our hibachi chef, Nate, was excellent and entertaining, bringing a delightful sense of humor to the meal. Just a heads up: be sure to cover your drink, as he likes to toss shrimp tails in the air. Also, don’t leave the table; otherwise, you might find a shrimp tail unexpectedly making its way onto your seat! I ordered the ribeye and shrimp, while my husband opted for scallops and filet mignon. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, but I have to say, the ribeye was my favorite. The portion sizes were generous, and several people at our table had to ask for takeout boxes. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely go back!
