Bidra med feedbackReview by a person who lived in Belgium about a month: I was so excited that something like this was opened in Apex. We went to brunch the weekend. They have a limited parking space. Careful, the menu is in French. Luckily I could read it and my wife couldn't:p The lady at the counter was not friendly and she was in any way with the owner of the shop (of a kind). We just wanted to order and sit down. The owner was very friendly and kept our toddler entertained. I have no complaints about her food. We ordered the quiche and waffle with Brioche cream bun. The quiche was so fluffy and it was accompanied with edible flowers, which was a surprise for me. The waffles were good. We had packed some Macaroons. The hot chocolates aren't like your hot chocolates you'd find in Stars. Some would find them less sweet. But this is called cocoa!! My wife really enjoyed her ABI, there are actually freshly pressed.. I felt that the place was pricier by $2 on each menu item (comparison with La Farm). We left this place light. I came here to do some office work and the Wi-Fi is good. Freshly squeezed ABI and slightly overpriced good food. But... deserves a chance.
Google Map shows incorrectly that you have to go from the street. Turn right or left in Pemberton Hill Rd, then immediately left and straight ahead. This is a rustic, tasty café with excellent service. Cafe in the best French tradition. Friendly staff to help with great breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great Belgian waffle, quiche selections, croissants, wonderful coffees / slats, chocolates. A bit hard to see NC 55 near US 64. It is located directly on the road from the NC 55 entrance to Beaver Creek.
This is a wonderful café! Very delicious pastries! Fresh coffee! I want to come back every day!
Summary: Very good, especially if you are about the authenticity of your French breakfast items. Omelettes are delicious, but a bit expensive for the portion size. Today I found myself in Apex for the first time and was longing to find a non-chain restaurant where to find a Saturday latte. I found Belgian cafe. From its location in a boring stripe shopping center to its parking area opposite sidewalk seats, it does not see how much from outside. However, the interior is clean, well illuminated and designed like a modern café, and the food is top notch. I had a little latte $3.84, an omelet $8.95 and a croissant $2.95. The latte was delicious, but not terribly hot and had much less foam than the standard. What it did was dense and creamy I wish it had been more! The Omelette was a daily special: kale/mushroom/Swiss. I think they used Shiiitake mushrooms that will certainly hit the gourmet index. The eggs were cooked with the typical French approach: unapologetic use of fatty ingredients, served in modest portions. It was about half the size of a typical restaurant served with maybe 2 eggs, but it glittered with butter and tasted like a dream. The croissant had a beautiful texture, with perfect layers and fluffiness and a soft, fluffy interior. On the scale from Paris 10 to Epcot Paris 1 a firm 9.4. The French are very accurate. His superior competitors in the area are Boulted Bread, Guglhupf and La Farm. Many reviews here mention a long waiting period. I came at 11:30 on a Saturday and the line was quite short, but the food took a while. It was pretty full inside. Target for a less busy hour and try to sit inside: the strikingly unpleasant, tiny wooden café chairs almost on the parking lot are the only essential drawback for this beautiful place.
I happened to pass this little cafe...if you blink you will miss it. If I were you I would write down the address right now and make sure you go. I had a slice of quiche that was to die for and they had the most beautiful looking desserts ever. I'm going to make my way back to try their Belgian waffles they look amazing. The only advice I would like to leave for the owners please please please advertise more I think that was the best lunch I've had in about 2 years. Super clean, fantastic food and a nice friendly staff. I'm telling all of my friends and you should be telling all of your friends that this is the most wonderful place again Apex. And they cater!! Fyi I did not get paid for this advertisement.
