Bidra med feedbackI always went to quite foods when I visited ann arbor, but recently discovered arbor farms. a so beautiful difference not-corporated and a relief from the tear-off prices at wf. it is now, I would say for the largest part cheaper than wf that has just become a huge money gouging machine. and arbor farms has now more local and organic products than wf (I do not go into the food stores in the health store to buy conventional products to higher normal trips sold than an independent one! it has better prices and a better choice for local organic veg ! many of the other options such as healthy drinking, lotions and pills, vegetarian proteins etc. for the same or cheaper than wf. and without the evil firm eye watching you. wf drove out independent health food shops by reducing their prices to get where they are today, and then lifted their prices like crazy after the expelling competition throughout the country, and for that I will always detest them and support an independent health food store if I can, and that is better.
Arbor farms is my favorite business in ann arbor, and their hot food counter is fantastic. I recently bought her weekly special, that was a vegetarian reuben with marinated tempo, sour wort, wobble and vegan dressing. it was excellent. if they don't have a similar veggie-friendly special when they are there, they buy one of their kichererbsalnus burger (vegan warnung es hat hat eier) and crawl it on one sidealat is always a good bet. the homemade balsamico dressing is super. for ex-of-towners this is a good chance to try some locally grown foods. it is cheaper than plum market, and the hot food options are much vegetarian friendly.
Arbor farms has a large selection of everything they want to find in a food store or a health food shop. they also store many local products (e.g. local tortillas, tofu, etc.) unfortunately they rarely wear local products. most of their articles are more expensive than people’s food coop or whole foods. it's good to support this local landlord load!
I used to frequent Whole Foods whenever I visited Ann Arbor, but recently discovered Arbor Farms and found it to be a refreshing change from the corporate atmosphere and high prices at WF. Arbor Farms is now, in my opinion, more affordable overall compared to WF, which has become overly focused on making money. Arbor Farms offers a greater selection of local and organic produce, which is important to me as I don't want to pay high prices for conventional produce at a health food store. I support this independent store because they have better prices, a wider variety of local organic vegetables, and other options like natural health products, lotions, vegetarian proteins, etc. all at the same or lower prices than WF. Plus, there's no corporate pressure looming over you. WF drove out independent health food stores by undercutting their prices, only to raise them significantly after eliminating the competition. I will always prefer supporting independent health food stores like Arbor Farms, which I believe is the better choice in any case.
Arbor Farms is my favorite grocery store in Ann Arbor, and their hot food counter is amazing. I recently tried their weekly special, a vegetarian Reuben with marinated tempeh, sauerkraut, onions, and vegan dressing, and it was outstanding. If they don't have a veggie-friendly special when you visit, I recommend trying one of their chickpea walnut burgers (just a heads up, it contains eggs) crumbled on top of a side salad. Their homemade balsamic dressing is fantastic. For those visiting from out of town, this is a great opportunity to taste locally grown food. Arbor Farms is more budget-friendly than Plum Market and offers a much wider variety of vegetarian options.
