The Kitchen is now smoke free since May 3, a new ceiling replaced the nicotine one in December,2009, the light fixtures washed, you can actually see the light bulbs now. We visited on Sunday afternoon about 1:30 O'clock and we had the same waitress that waited on us that smoke filled day, she told us to hurry up and order our food as the restaurant closed at 2:00 o'clock. She brought our coffee and immediately turned the sign in the window to Closed. A second waitress came to refill our coffee cups and we asked her to package our food and we would take liave and take it with us. It was very evident that the first waitress did not want us there close to closing time. We stayed, finished our meal, was at the cashiers paying our bill and two of the waitresses were behind the counter, smoking. A third waitress was washing windows. It was 2:05 O’clock. The food was passable but not exceptional, since the restaurant is now non smoking, we may give the establishment another try, perhaps for breakfast and hopefully have a waitress with a smiling attude.
Well I’m not sure about Dorris, I know everyone is entitled to there opinion but, I eat at the Village kitchen often the ceilings are perfectly White, and the waitress gives you your beverage, (in my case Coffee) moments after seating and by watching the clock just out of curiosity they take Coffee around every 5-8 minutes, and when the waitress brought my coffee she asked me if I need a few minutes to decide what I wanted, I did, so she came back in Approximately 10 minutes, on an average day there is at most 4 people smoking simultaneously, and Sunday there is NO smoking, I am Very Satisfied with there overall service.
We should have known when we entered the Village Kitchen Restaurant in Angola Indiana for breakfast today that we should have walked out right then or shortly after. The building was filled with people smoking, the ceiling is orange from nicotine. The waitress took our order for coffee, brought it about 10 minutes later, then took our order for breakfast, which took another 20 minutes. She never returned to our table to see if things were o.k. or if we wanted more coffee. We should have walked out, the smoke was so bad and the food was nothing to brag about. Isn't there a law to separate the smokers in a restaurant? Most restaurants in Mission Texas are NO SMOKING.
