Bidra med feedbackYuck....I didn't pick this place and I was skeptical of it before I even went in, we were the only people in the restaurant, took forever to get anything, the carbonation was out in the soda machine, the food wasn't that great especially for the price. I don't know what was going ok with our waitress but I'm pretty sure she was on drugs. So definitely go somewhere else.
I stopped by here earlier today with my father for lunch. Marcello's is located on Mountain View Drive right across from the Bass Pro Shops. Whenever we arrived to the restaurant at shortly after noon, we were the only people in there. Throughout our 45 minutes there, only one other table ultimately came into the restaurant. Anyways, the restaurant itself feels modern and sleek with matching granite looking tabletops and bar and some attractive hardwood flooring. Beyond that they have 4 TVs all on different channels and some pictures of Alaskan wildlife on the walls. For my lunch on this day I decided to go with the spicy calzone. The menu described it as garlic butter, pepperoni, pineapple, jalapeño, and feta with a side of marinara. Whenever it came to the table it looked good as the outside was cooked to a golden brown. Cutting into it showed a good amount of cheese as well as all of the ingredients the menu had mentioned. If you got a bite with all of the different ingredients at once, it was quite good. The crisp outside of the calzone was a good contrast to the soft and gooey cheese. Then the pepperoni added the saltiness while the pineapple and jalepenos brought the sweet and heat respectively. Overall, it was quite a well conceived calzone. My only problem with it was how greasy it was which my stomach didn't exactly care for later. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. While a combination Greek/Italian restaurant may sound rather weird, Marcellos pulled it off.
Food Amazing. So much flavor. So fresh. Great portions. The garlic mashed potatoes have LOTS of garlic. Everything is well seasoned and very tender. Lots of red onions. If they're not your thing ask to have them off. See pics for portion sizes. Lots of options on the menu and I can't imagine anything not being delicious. Ambiance Lots of natural light. Several TVs. A little bit of photos. Kind of sparse, but there are mountains to look at outside the windows! Notables a great selection of beer and wine. I had the Fairweather IPA and my wife had the Malbec. Both were very tasty. Interesting music selection. It's upbeat R&B style. Cleanliness very clean. No complaints. Service it's not a big place and there was only one server. As a result, it was little slow. Don't get your panties in a bunch. The food is going to be worth a little wait.
New restaurant that opened not too long again. I believed they replaced Baked Alaska bar and grill. We wanted an snack and decided to give this place an try. We came here one late afternoon, so we were the only customers around. The waitress was friendly and professional. Pros: Clean and well maintained. BEST fries in Anchorage! TV screens to watch the game Friendly staff Cons Too much sauce on the Gyro but this can be easily fix by requesting the sauce on the side) Overall: I would definitely recommend anyone to try out this place. And I would definitely come back and eat at this place.
One of my favorite Greek places in Anchorage. Just happened to stumble upon them one night and been going ever since. The Greek salad is very large and the meat is so good. Plus the vinaigrette and the tzatiki sauce is made in house! The lamb and chicken is never over cooked. It's the perfect combination to go with the salad!
