Gallo's Mexican Restaurant - Anchorage

1st things 1st.....?TAKE OUT ORDERS..ATTENTION?If you call in an order and say, is this the one on Dimond blvd.? .... there are 2 restaurants off of Dimond Blvd. so they may say, yes .And you 'll get there and be at the wrong place.•1). 1 restaurant is off of Old Seward Highway and Dimond Blvd.•2). The other is off of Arctic And Dimond Blvd.That was the problem I had with my last takeout, but 50% of that issue was my problem for not catching it.So.... Came here with a friend and had a good time. Service was good, food was good and hot, the deserts tasted good, just an overall good experience.Food: 5/5

The service here was EXCEPTIONAL. My friend and I were amazed at how quick our food came out and how attentive and friendly the staff was. We will definitely be coming back again soon.Food: 5/5

Service was friendly, we had three differnet servers compete over who was going to wait our table, kind of unorganized.Food was overpriced, cheap quality, flavorless, straight out of the box from the freezer section. Chicken enchiladas Verdes was like eating soggy wet bland chicken wrapped in microwaved corn tortillas. rice and beans also bland.Food was terrible, and left us feeling sick.Won't be coming here again...

Went out for a celebration for my partners work promotion. Like many others that report here, the margaritas were thoroughly boozey. Bless.Everything else was terrible. The calamari was clearly from a box and barely warm. My partners Chimichanga was not fried, as requested, not seasoned, and drenched in sour cream and flavorless, uninspired guacamole. My Mexican Steak dish had barley tender veggies and a sickly sweet sauce without spice; it gave me the impression they put sugar into it. Very authentic . Along with that, the rice and beans are most aptly described as flat and flavorless.I informed my waiter of our dissatisfaction and he didn 't seem interested in making the situation right. Despite not having finished even half of our meals, he largely ignored my comments, rushed to take our payment with no discount for the bad food, and disappeared.I used to like this place, but any spirit of quality and hospitality that once existed has clearly been replaced with a mentality of fast, cheap service to get customers out of the door as quick as possible.
