First of all, I think the reasoning “I let you in” is so wrong! On what basis were you going to refuse us? It is a brasserie, whether it is fancy or not, we will leave aside. You find it friendly and acceptable to indicate to your customers and public that we will only receive diners (because it obviously yields more), but a brasserie is not the same as just serving food. It didn't bother me at all that people came to eat, we were even polite enough to stay because we were already inside. It seemed rude to us to just leave. There are other restaurants, tea rooms and brasseries in Oudenaarde where you can laugh and enjoy. It's Friday evening and you think it's normal to treat customers who are happy and having fun, who choose to continue that in your business. And suppose we were loud. Do you think it is normal for the manager to ask us what language we speak? This is discriminatory, not to mention racist, for someone who is of immigrant origin. Someone of whom 85% of his compatriots do not speak Dutch well, and whose way of talking is always extremely loud. It is also low to play the perfect (immigrant) when you are Flemish. Not friendly at all, we were not allowed to talk or laugh. Not recommended. If you want to mourn go there the place to be!!!!
