Gauchos Grill - Amsterdam

We stumbled upon this hidden jem on New Years Eve, and they did not disappoint. Despite having to need reservations that night they fit us in. This restaurant is an Argentina steak house. They have everything from fish, steak, chicken or pasta. Initially, I was skeptical because it seemed like a very fancy restaurant but they were so kind and accommodating to our two young kids. They even let them pick out of a prize bin full of toys at the end of meal. The service was amazing. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The food was excellent I ordered the chicken with garlic fries. It came with arugula as well. My husband are the tuna steak and they cooked it ahi style so it was great as well! I would definitely go back!

We learned this was a franchise restaurant but this one was the best. We had the best ribeye steaks here. The food was that good. The service was the best, too. Everyone on the staff helped service patrons. We asparagus and mushrooms were cooked just right, no overcooking. We really enjoyed our dinners.

4 stars for service. 3 stars for food. Picanha was sliced very think which on a cut like that seems to only highlight the grisly bits and overall let's the flavorful beefy flavor down a bit. Fries were not seasoned at all but the asparagus was good.

This is the second time I ate at this place. The first time I was with a group of 12 people. Wonderful service and food. Second time was the exact opposite! I had to call our server to the table multiple times. Our steaks were over cooked and under cooked. Rude and slow service for only 4 people. I feel like the do not like Americans here. We saw 3 other tables turn 3 times to our 1. Very sad. Although all of this the deserts are excellent and almost worth the terrible service.

Ok food, but awful service. From getting a table when the place was empty but the waiters just chatted away ignoring me, through taking the order and getting food or drink. I literally saw 3 tables walk in after me and finish their meals while i was still waiting to order. Absolute ignorance! Could be that the priority is given to groups vs a solo table i guess. Very disappointing experience overall. 45 min to get an appetizer and wine, 1.5 h to get the main course. I gave up on desert
