Baxter's Grill - Amelia Island

Baxter's was supposed to have a reputation for awesome steaks. Not on the night I was there. My steak was tough and tasteless and my husband's steak tasted like freezer burn. The potato was tiny. The bread was pretty good and the salad was just okay. The atmosphere was stuffy.

The food was great, the service was lacking. I enjoyed a mouth watering petite filet. My husband had the Thai Salmon. We ordered a bottle of Hacienda with our dinner that arrived 10 minutes into our main course. The restaurant was busy the Friday night we dined. However, we ;waited ; approximately 35 minutes to receive our bill after our dessert was finished. Our waitress was then replaced by the front door hostess only after we tracked her down.

Always serves a great steak and the best fried shrimp! But don't go looking for atmosphere cause you won't find it!

Visiting family in Florida. Very surprised at the difference in service for people of color. Manager actually seated us in the rear of the restaurant........passing many empty tables

Coming to this place, you think it's a family restaurant. It's very unique and outdated with high dollar steaks. The waitress was an older lady, and she seemed a little frustrated. The food was good not my favorite place . I think the place needs some light the blue ceiling makes it dark and gloomy.
