Bidra med feedbackLa Aldea was recommended to me by a taxi driver in Amecameca. Honestly, I went because my favorite NYC restaurant is Aldea and because it was listed in Trip Advisor. I was pleasantly surprised by this wonderfully picturesque and completely excellent restaurant. Although directly on a main road, the place is beautifully decorated with numerous outdoor tables, each in its own small room overlooking a beautiful garden area in the center. I ordered a bottle of beer and my pleasure came with a frozen cup. I spent a lot of time with the menu and settled on Aztec soup and roasted rabbit. Both were fantastic! The soup was served in a large bowl. It had the perfect amount of spices. It was made exactly as it should be soft in it with the crispy tortilla strips, but not soggy. The rabbit was incredible. Heavy accent of garlic and marjoram gave him a juicy taste. What I didn't expect was that it was a whole rabbit! Of course I was very full. A word of caution the plate even contain the head. It was served with black beans, friijoles, a small bowl of cracks and a bowl of red sauce and green sauce for diving. The service was also fantastic. The waiter who helped me was kind and friendly. He was extremely patient with me when I took my time to decide what I wanted. The meal came efficiently and without waiting much between after completing a course. A word of caution if you don't speak Spanish, bring something or someone to translate as they don't have English menus. This restaurant is really and should go to your list of places when you are in the area. I will look back my meal there with loving memories for a long time.
