Bidra med feedbackI recently visited a small cafe and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was lovely and the meal I had was delicious. The service was excellent, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who treated me like a valued customer. The food was cooked perfectly, and I was especially impressed with the well-done egg I requested. The location of the cafe is in debradelei Mill near Morrison's in Belper, Derbyshire. It is on the first floor and accessible by a small lift. The staff are also available to assist if needed. Overall, I had a great dining experience at this cafe.
I recently had my Birthday celebration at Belper Rugby Club. Stacey provided the buffet for the evening and was extremely helpful, going above and beyond to accommodate our needs. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. I highly recommend Brettles Bistro's catering service for a personalized experience.
I made a reservation for a party of 8 for Sunday lunch at this restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff were friendly, and everything was very clean. The set menu offered 2 courses for £12.95 or 3 courses for £15.95, with plenty of choices to pick from. The meal was delicious, with home-cooked food just like my mom used to make. I would definitely recommend this place.
Found the Mill when exploring Belper on a Saturday lunchtime and then found the Bistro on the 3rd floor. Nice and bright and very clean so thought we would take lunch there. It was also not very busy with only half a dozen tables occupied at most. The menu was two sheets of A4 attached to a clipboard on each table. Some items priced, others not. You go to the counter to place your order. I ordered a Derbyshire breakfast to be told not available as only served until 12. This was despite signs around the building saying breakfasts etc are served between 10 and 3. No problem, changed the order for a gammon ham with salad bar with some chips. Tuna and cheese melt for the good lady and two pots of tea. Then told the tea would be some time as they had a backlog on the drinks. In fact, two or three customers who ordered just drinks and were told of the delay changed their mind and walked away. Tea did arrive after about 10 minutes. Drinkable but certainly not what you might call hot. Then my ham arrived. three slices on a plate (cost nearly £7 with chips £1.95 extra) Visit the salad bar where there are four bowls. One contains 3 halves of boiled egg. Second contains coleslaw, third some salad leaves and the fourth, salad leaves mixed with peppers, cucumber and spring onions. It was tasty but very little choice and does not compare to such as a Harvester salad bar. In the meantime, the tuna and cheese melt arrived. It was sent straight back as it was cold and the cheese had not even begun to melt. Not sure how much this was as it was one of the items not priced on the menu but the whole lot came in at just over £18. Another table clearly had some issue as the chef came out and explained they had a backlog. I hate to think what it may be like if they were busy. It could be a very nice place to eat but some thought needs to be put into their processes to be more efficient and speed things up. Won 't be returning anytime soon I 'm afraid.
To do this review I am going to do a couple of comparisons. On Saturday in Southport at a Costa Coffee my mum and I had 2 large coffee's one Latte one Americans, one hot bacon bap and a millionaires shortbread cake all delicious and fresh at a cost of £8.60p in very comfortable surroundings. Today at Brettles Bistro my partner and I had two Lattes I would say medium size, with a cheese toasty each which came with a tiny bit of what one can only describe as four day old wilted salad. The bill for this gastronomic plate of yuk was £16.95!!!! To say my ten year old granddaughter could rustle up a more appetising and fresh snack is an understatement. Shame on you the owner of Brettles you should be publicly flogged for serving dead food overcharging for it to understand what good food at a great price is read my next review on The Boat Inn Cromford.
