Bidra med feedbackVery nice ambience. A re modeled old house "Hacienda Type" in the heart of El Carmen barrio. Nice combinación of lights, furniture, garden. Very high ceilings.Regarding the food, our party had several plates. All of them good to very good, but the Tuétano which was served uncooked and unfortunately neither the sub chef, nor the sastre notice it on time. This was a set back since we had to change our selection consideran it would take an additional 25 minutes to have it replaced. It is a board, well chosen menu along with some different, hard to find Mexican wines.I would suggest to review prices, since they seem a bit high. Place was not crowded at all.
Nice backyard but expensive and not very good food. Personally I didn't like it, neither the food nor the prices for those portions and dishes. There is a nice garden at the back. I do not plan to come back.
We went there for a Mother's Day brunch myself and four other women. they allowed the kids to play outside in the garden area. we brought toys for them and they were very happy. the wait staff were very hospitable and easy-going. The brunch menu was complete. I had a delicious omelette with egg whites. Everyone's food was good. The only problem was that they didn't know how to make mimosas, but they were very accommodating. And weren't offended when I quickly explained how. It's a bit tricky to find, but the entrance and the restaurant has nice architecture and vibe. I didn't take a pic of the brunch menu but I did attach the dinner menu. I would definitely recommend for business or casual visit with friends.
I invited my significant other for birthday lunch at Carlota and it definitely did not disappoint. The prices are on the higher side but not overwhelming. The flavors are intense and surprising and the place is very very beautiful as it is a on old house with a garden. We had the ceviche, the oysters, asparagus with cheese, short rib with sweet potato puree and the grilled fish, all to share and not one single dish was average. Service was also attentive and quick, maybe a bit too quick even. We had a bottle of white wine which was not cold enough, that was probably my only issue during the meal. All in all I heartily recommend this restaurant.
Food is Mexican with a modern touch. You will find many dishes with very traditional ingredients like chapulines integrated and they taste simply great. We had two different dishes with mole as main and it was divine .. Even tough are kids are not a big fan of these type of dishes they liked it a lot as e.g. the mashed patatoes were according to them the best in town.
