River Run Kayak - Alton

This establishment is great. The other day I called to reserve three kayaks to take out on the river and the bay and the owner very kindly gave us reservations even after the Deli had closed. The kayaks were in great shape and the staff was very helpful giving us suggestions, directions, and local knowledge. I would highly recommend renting kayaks for anyone, beginners, families, or just for people looking to go for themselves. The price is great, the staff is lovely, and wedidn't have a chance to grab a bite, but the food and menu looked great as well. In such hard and scary times with the pandemic I want to highlight such a wonderful and helpful place. Please support them, buy from them, rent from them andvisit them when you can.

We stopped in for a bite to eat. The staff was so friendly and they are a cash or check only. They even offered to let me use an IOU and pay the next time we stopped in. I happened to have a check. The food is so good and they really pack it. Outdoor seating is awesome.

A fairly ordinary experience though a nice outside setting (lots of traffic noise). I had the special which was corned beef on rye with cheese. I believe that a bit more thought on this special might have actually produced that result. A corned beef sandwich ought to have a good Swiss cheese but it certainly seemed that what was in the sandwich was American cheese. I asked for honey mustard but if any made it to the sandwich it wasn 't detectable. It 's the firsttime I 've eaten here but not sure I would choose it again.

Quiet stretch of the river, was a great place to teach children (7 and 9) to kayak lots of turns and bends in nearly still water. Owner was helpfully and suggested a good trip for distance and a spot to break.

My bf and I rented Kayaks for the day and it was my first time. I honestly did not like it because it felt too claustrophobic for me. We didn't ask for any money back, as we had used the Kayaks, but she gave us half of our anyways. She was very accommodating and I would refer anyone looking to this place.
