Bidra med feedbackMy wife and I were en route to a holiday in south east Switzerland. In prior years we have always by passed basel but this year I determined that we should visit this ancient city on the Rhine. I particularly wanted to visit the Kuntsmuseum that has a superb art collection. Hotel Rossli was easy to locate and is well placed for getting into the city centre via an excellent tram service. This is clearly a popular hotel; they were doing a roaring dinner trade. The hotel was comfortable, the service was good and the dinner and breakfast were of a high standard. The less attractive feature is the hotel is under the flightpath of Basel airport and flights continued to about 23.00 hrs! If you can be tolerant of aircraft noise this was a good place to stay.
Perfect Service delicious food! We had shredded veal and calf liver with roesti which was very criso! As well the tripes are delicious! Restaurant is nicely decorated and an institution in this City!
Whenever I am in Switzerland, I usually trust the Swiss ‘’Gilde Gourmet’’ guide when looking for traditional restaurants with good food and pleasant atmosphere. Rössli is undoubtedly one of them; in an old-fashioned way the dining room boasts a cozy feeling, in which I could enjoy a full lunch. Thumbs-up to Christoph for the professional and efficient service throughout the lunch. The menu puts focus on traditional dishes. As starter I had a delicious chanterelle salad. As main course I chose the suggestion of the day: calf liver with buttered noodles and tomato salad. Delicious and generous portion. As sweet I indulged myself with a refreshing vacherin glacé. The bill amounted to CHF78, reflecting Swiss usual price standards. I will gladly come back. And leave your car at home: Allschwil is only a 20-minute tram ride from Basel city centre, with connections every 10 minute!
I eat in the rerstaurant as I stayed there. I order a starter wigth Jacob mussels. Wel well, there were 4 mussels and they must have been on a diet, they were tiny. The presentation was excellent but I was not impressed and at 24 CHF it was highway robbery. A bottle of sparking water cost 6.50 CHF which is exorbitant. For my main meal I ordered a steak Rossini. Once again the presentation was excellent. The meat was of the highest quality but the portion was tiny. The vegtables and roast potatoes were excellent. Definitely good in content but a little better quantity would have been good. 46 CHF Finally I had a Coupe Danmark at 10.50 CHF and a coffe for 4.30 CHF. Total for a evening meal 91.60 CHF. Heart attack prices. I would not eat there again based on price but quality and attention to details you get. The waiters and staff were pleasant and extremely professional. A well run establishment.
This restaurant is one of the best we have ever been to in Switzerland. Even if it‘s located in the outskirts you hae the hotel‘s parking: We would like to thank the whole team, especially the lady who‘s smile and professionality was simply … amazing! We always dine inside: It‘s quite and so perfectly arranged. All comes with love, amuse bouche, bread, and then…. the menue! We had lobster and fish. It was heavenly! The dessert: I think the Himbeer Gratin deserves another star…… If you are looking for a 3 star kitchen… you are right there! If you prefer to dine outside or the restaurant, just call! This is a place that will be above all your expectations! Thank you abd we will come back
