Brossen Steakhouse - Allerdale

I give this restaurant a perfect 5 out of 5 rating. We made a reservation for a birthday celebration and ordered the chateaubriand, which was incredibly delicious and melted in your mouth. The sides and sauces were also amazing. The service was top-notch, with attentive waitstaff who not only took good care of us but also made us laugh. It's rare to find such excellent staff these days.

Went with 3 friends on Tueday night at 8.15 Informed by a member of staff it had closed early. With the potential of a £200 plus bill.... Is this normal managent policy ?? Would love to hear your reply. Maybe they are one of the few businesses that can turn business away in a very quiet January

Today we visited the restaurant for the first time and we had the 3 course festive menu and really enjoyed it. The young girl who served us was polite and attentive and the food was delicious and cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back. Great value at £31 for 3 courses. Decor beautiful too we really enjoyed it there.

We visited mid week early evening with our 11 month old. We are only local and had a voucher to use from last Christmas so had the steak sharer. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the steak was cooked perfectly. What was stand out was the service from the Romanian waiter Grago, he was absolutely superb with our little girl who was everywhere and anywhere and didn’t want to sit still. He was so pleasant, welcoming and nothing was too much. The Lake District has desperately missed our European workers, it is a pleasure to see them back and help push the service. You have been a huge miss over the last few years. Hats off to you, you are an absolute credit to the rest of your friends working in hospitality here in the Lake District.

This was my 2nd visit to this restaurant in 3 weeks, I wish I had got the name of the lady who appeared to be front of house as she was shocking. I had booked us in and put a note on the booking that we had a dog with us, twice she said I hadn’t put a note, I had, but I didn’t need to be told a further twice that I hadn’t! The 3 weeks before the same lady had served me my family in the bar area, our round of drinks was expensive and served up with attitude and just plain rudeness. Such a shame as the restaurant staff are lovely. Food was extremely average, my husbands roast beef was very rough so he left it, he didn’t want to complain but I explained to them that it was inedible, no one appeared bothered. We come to Keswick a lot, I won’t come here again.
