Bidra med feedbackMy Friend and I visited here to have a Meal Inside rather that having a Take Away this Time. We Both had Fish, Chips, Mushy Peas and a Slice of Bread and Butter. We also had a Bottle of White Wine. The Meal was very Tasty, Especially the Chips as they were a dark Brown Colour. Always get a Lovely Welcome from Di and John anytime We Visit. Total Cost was 23 Euros which was Very Good Value.
Hartley Brownes have had New Owners for about a Month but John and His Partner decided not to change the Name. As only Takeaways have been allowed for the past few weeks My Friend and I were craving Fish and Chips. We both ordered Cod, Chips and Mushy Peas with a Slice of Bread and Butter All for the Princely Sum of 8 Euros Each. It tasted Delicious especially the Chips as they were Golden Brown. We have ordered Our Takeaway for 5PM Tonight and so looking forward to it. Good Luck to John and His Partner in their New Venture.
Although I have Lived on Torreta 2 for 10 Years I have never visited this Restaurant since it opened. My Friend said it does Great Fish and Chips so decided to try it. I must admit I am not keen on Cod as I prefer Haddock but there is always a 1st for Anything. My Friend a I had Cod, Chips and Mushy Peas with Tartare Sauce then I had Warm Apple Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream and My Friend had Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream. My Friend had a Coke and I had a Large Mug of Coffee. Total Cost was 20 Euros. The Meals were Lovely and The Man who runs it was Lovely and Friendly. Will definately pop in again.
Popped in to Hartley-Brownes originally to watch the football and glad I did. Got chatting to Steve (the owner) and what a top guy, Friendly and really helpful and while I was watching the football some of the other customers watching as well recommended trying his home cooked food, which we did. He offers a massive mixed grill which if you have a big appetite I highly recommend consisting of 2 lamb chops, 2 pork sausages, a pork chop, 4oz steak, 6oz burger, gammon, 2 fried eggs and all this accompanied by onion rings, hand cut chips, mushrooms, tomatoes and peas. And yes I ate it all (somehow) while my mum and son shared one between them. The hand cut chips were that good we decided to return for his Fish and Chips Friday and again we weren’t disappointed, Lovely fish in really crispy batter, Great hand cut chips, homemade mushy peas and homemade Tartar sauce just for good measure...... Highly recommend if your in the area and will definitely be back next time I visit......
Just back from a 10-day stay at Torrevieja. We used this restaurant for our evening meal at least 4 times after we heard about the place from an ex-pat resident. The owner, Steve, is really friendly and manages all aspects of running the place on his own. The food and service is excellent and is real value for the money. The 5 Euro section on the menu offers a good selection of dishes. The most popular dish from this is the home-made steak pie which is served with mash and vegetables and was a personal favourite. For a little more than 5 euros you can have a salad or burger (the latter of which I have also had and found to be very good). I think the restaurant opens at 10 a.m. in the morning for breakfasts and remains open until late evening. The kitchen is open until 10 p.m. every night except Wednesdays when he closes the kitchen at 9 p.m. to run a quiz night. BE WARNED THAT THE RESTAURANT AND BAR IS CLOSED ALL DAY MONDAYS.
