The Ship Inn - Alfred Gelder St, Hull

Awful food! The chef has changed for the worst! We have eaten here for many years and the food has been very good, but not anymore! We went for lunch and both ordered the steak pie which was inedible with barely cooked soggy pastry and mushy unappetising meat! We complained to the staff and in all honesty, were met with a cold attitude. We were told we could either have a pudding or be reimbursed for the meal so we opted for a refund. However, when the bill came she had only refunded for one meal, not two. When this was queried we were told one pie had been sampled??? We definitely will not be back. Obviously our loyalty to The Ship Inn over the years has counted for nothing! Food drinks: Do not order the steak pie! Service: 1 Location: 4

Brilliant cosy little pub. I absolutely love it here . Not stayed in the accommodation so I can't comment. Never waiting for service, it's amazing. Service: 5 Location: 5

Beer was lovely on draught good selection, bar staff very friendly. Didn't use the hotel just the bar but I'm sure the rooms will be nice based on the rest of the inn Service: 5 Location: 3
