Bidra med feedbackGoodies is such a cute feel good space and place! I had been watching their IG feed and I knew I wanted to go sooner than later and let me tell you the experience was perfect. This is a cute custard shop tucked into a quaint little Alexandria community. I brought my niece with me, and we sat outside, the décor is American vintage 50's. There is a patio area and next to it picnic tables. The customer service was great. I loved the bright primary colors like the green grass, the bright blue building, and the men wearing bow ties! The desserts, I had the Big Apple, an apple cider donut with homemade custard in the middle drizzled with caramel. My niece had the vanilla custard, topped with chocolate, caramel, and peanuts. She forgot to check the ingredients, because she's allergic to peanuts, they quickly made her a brand new one, with no nuts or fuss. When we think about cool summer events as a kid, this would definitely rank at the top of my list! Goodies had me feeling like I was 10 years old again, wearing white ribbons in my hair, and pink jellies. Hearts Hugs I'll be back soon!
I have trying to get custard at this location for months. Finally, I was in Old Town when they were open. So worth the wait. It's located in the old Ice House and they have a daily specials menu. They have daily flavors, shakes and floats. I had the Juke Box sundae which was perfect for a summer Sunday afternoon. They have a lovely seating area with umbrellas, a Bob's Big Boy and a 66 gas pump for decor plus a picnic table area. Be patient, it's worth the wait for this tasty treat. Must go back soon for a root beer float.
We had a great experience here! The owner Brandon is super nice and charismatic he took time to speak with each guest and answer any questions about the menu. I got this apple cider donut with creamy custard ice cream that was just to die for. They have a beautiful location it's an old Ice House on a corner in Old Town Alexandria. They have nice seating outside. This is the perfect place to go on a hot summer day! This is also a Black owned business!
This place is amazing and I'm only sad I didn't know wa out it sooner. They serve classic frozen custard which is very dense and creamy! We strolled up and I believe the gentleman who is the owner said hello and offered us a free sample. I ordered a root beer float and my boyfriends ordered a classic chocolate sundae on vanilla custard. Both were fabulous especially the root beer which came in a huge bottle to add as you wanted to the custard. I will for sure be back this weekend as summer is for creamy sweet treats! Sadly didn't take any photos but trust me don't miss out on this spot!
I have officially fell in love since moving to DC. Here is my love story..... It all started on a hot summer day when a few fine food trucks stood in a line. Immediately, my eyes locked with Goodies because their sign said donutwich along with a few other items which were offered to my job during our summer social. Well, I decided to give the donutwich a try and now I 'm obsessed with it. Let 's talk about the creamy goodness of this frozen custard, complimented by a warm apple cider donut which was perfectly split down the middle and topped with caramel....yes people, caramel! My only regret was having not been able to indulge in 2 of these. I know you 're wondering and the answer is nope, they aren 't sweet at all, I would actually describe it as more of a balance in taste and a delicious treat for those hot summer days. Now!!!!!! I 'm going to have to rekindle my new found summer love and find them wherever they are. If you 're a frozen custard lover, this is the place for you....Get here!!!!!!!! Until we meet again, my sweet, sweet, custard love!
