Keith's Smokehouse - Ajax

Don't be fooled! Ordered 3 different meals 1 4 Chicken w Fries absolutely disgusting! The chicken had zero flavor and was smothered in a spicy sauce that was a basic and horrible that kepted the chicken skin soft and slimy. The were just fries over done! Fried Chicken sandwich w pountine chicken was a frozen pattie and hard the bun was stale! Pountine was okay but not worth the extra 4.00. The ribs were decent and the wings again were smothered in way too much sauce. Overall the WAY OVER PRICED and over rated!!!! I definitely would never order again! On a positive nore...The staff was very friendly and nice!

This place is in the shell of one of Ajax's old staples, The Texas Burger. They have all the same furniture and equipment, with a new series of chalk signs. The staff were very kind. A Bollywood movie was blaring away on one of the TVs. Didn't add to the ambiance whatsoever. The food was decent, but the portions were exceptionally small for the price we paid. When you go to a BBQ restaurant you expect abundance, and this was definitely not that. I had the ribs and brisket. Quite tasty. For $17 I got two and a half pieces of brisket, and an additional $14 for 6 pork ribs. The sides were coleslaw and about a dozen or so fries for an additional $13. In my opinion, very, very expensive for the portions presented. My wife got a caesar salad and 6 wings. Our meal came to almost $90. A few things this place needs to improve on for sure. Worth a shot, but bring a full wallet.

Ordered the pound of brisket and large fries thinking for $42 plus tax it must be enough to feed 2 or even 3 people. When my daughter opened the fries she asked why I didn’t get enough for both of us. The brisket was tasty but extremely fatty. Now I have to go buy some dinner for my wife. Way over priced for the amount of food you get. Service: Take out

We’ve ordered from Keith’s smokehouse twice now and both times we were so impressed! The pulled pork and boneless rib sandwiches are top notch and the bone in ribs are perfect. We are happy that Ajax has a bbq with such great quality, customer service and pricing. We will never go to ribfest again and wait in lines now that we’ve found this spot. Price per person: CA$10–20
