Joa Sushi - AIRLIE BEACH

Without a doubt the best sushi kiosk I've been to in Australia, and better than the average Japanese restaurant. Granted, they only have sushi rolls, but the variety is excellent and the combination of flavours really worth a visit. I particularly liked the spicy calamari, but the absolute best was the soft shell crab, perfectly fried, tender and lightly seasoned with a nice sauce. The mayo (used in the prawn, avocado and mayo roll seems better than average, at least it isn't sweet. But maybe I was just delighted by the great sushi I just had... : Even if it's in a busy spot in the main street of a very touristic town, the prices are the same as the sushi kiosk at my local shopping centre.

The sushi looks expensive at first but the rolls are actually massive so it works out good value. The flavours are unique but you also have the classics and they all taste great! It’s a nice easy lunch if you don’t want to sit down and go through the normal restaurant process.

Probably the best sushi kiosk we've ever been to. Big generous rolls, with super tasty fillings. Lovely and fresh and very reasonable in price.
