Bidra med feedbackMy son and I checked to see what time they close. They say on their web site they close at 9 p.m. we got there at 8 p.m. we are vacationing and just arrived here today from Illinois. We were dressed in shorts and I'm sure we looked fraseled, but we didn't look like bums either. Anyway the waitress or hostess (not sure which) goes to the back for a few minutes comes back and said the kitchen is close. Again we walked in there right at eight. Oh and a couple walked in a few minutes before we did and we're sitting at a table.
Walked in with my mom, at 7:56, and they said the kitchen was closed. They close at 9. I understand soft closing early to get what you need to do done, but over an hour early? C'mon. It's also to note that I was wearing a racing shirt and cargo shorts, my mom was wearing a green blouse and jean shorts, while the people who were already there (including a couple who walked in just a minute or two before) were dressed pretty nicely, in button ups, like that. Makes one think that they don't want customers who just want a bite to eat. Oh well, food looks good too. We'll never find out. It was a good steak house. The steaks we both got were pretty undercooked (I had the ribeye and asked for medium rare, was expecting a red/pink center but I got a purple inside). My girlfriend got a filet and asked for medium (she got a very very purple inside, looked very rare). I do understand it is a quality steakhouse, but I think the temperatures could be better for the steaks. Other than that, the atmosphere is great, servers were delightful, prices were pricy but that was expected. Would recommend but make sure your steak is cooked how you want, for the price you pay you deserve that.
I have eaten here at least 7 times and they are always accommodating and the food is always perfect, the “special” steak appetizer is a must try. The atmosphere is very relaxed and tables are spaced to allow private conversations. The staff is very attentive, professional, and knowledgeable. The owner and manager are very experienced, friendly, and work very well together to make this a wonderful dining experience. It’s the best steak house in Aiken.
I was very disappointed in my Cowboy Ribeye. It had a strong charcoal taste and not a lot of flavor. I expected much more for the price
