La Place - Agde

This bar restaurant has changed hands recently and is nowhere near as good as it appears on trip advisor. We ordered two small beers but were given two large beers and expected to pay the inflated price by the dodgy owner. He did the same trick to a couple on the table next to us who ordered a small carafe of wine and were served a large one and expected to pay for it. Avoid at all costs.

During the last couple of weeks the whole family where having holiday in Agde and lived only 50 meter from the Marina square and the La Place, really nice place with super staff and good food. The square often have music events at nigh with gives a nice long end to the evening/night.

Small restaurant/bar away from main tourist area. Lovely food and great staff, very friendly. Great choice of drinks and best mojito's in the town. Open late.

As the previous reviewer says, this restaurant is set back one block from the river can be accessed either by walking along the quay past all the other restaurants to the little square facing the river. I believe it was only taken over by the present owners at the end of last summer. The courtyard garden at the back is just lovely; shady quiet, away from the hustle bustle of the waterfront. We thought it had the best 18.50 euro menu we 'd seen in a long time I would have given it 5 stars if the service had been slightly better (it was a bit slow). Perhaps I 'm being harsh though, the waitress did seem to be 'new ' to it. Lovely food ambiance, we 'd definitely go back. If you 're going, make a reservation ask for the garden, it 's much nicer than the front.
