Mr. Wizards - Affton

Love this place and disappointed that it is no longer open. Can't see driving to Big Bend so I will need to find a new favorite for my ice cream.

I love this place. When it comes to custard in St. Louis, everything gets compared to Ted Drewes, which can be unfair to other spectacular custard joints in the area. I always get the same thing (Reese's PB Cup concrete) and they seem to give me a generous portion of PB cups which keeps me coming back. Service is quick and painless. Try it out if you are looking for custard but do not want to wait in line at other places (you know where I am talking about) you will not regret it.

Named after the Washington Wizards circa Michael Jordan which is weird because STL couldn't be further removed from DC. OK, it has some things in common, but anyway.. The positives about Mr Wizards are the extremely cheap bargain-basement prices for custard, and also the lovely service by the young girl that was working here on the day I visited. The negatives are really all about the product. It's pretty bland and doesn't get it done for me the way that Ted Drewes down the road does. TD is one of my fave custartd places in the whole country, let alone STL. Nevertheless for the prices and service it easily deserves four stars.

Love this place our family goes at least 1-2 times in a month. Ice cream flavors are great.

Went to Mr Wizards in Saturday evening and it was quite enjoyable. Everyone got concretes the best of which was the Banana Pudding, phenomenal! Always a nice treat and the staff is very courteous which make the wait a bit easier.
