Although the holidays are almost everywhere and many people stay in the countryside because of the Corona pandemic, it is extremely difficult to find an open restaurant on Monday in the Oberland. Instead of accidentally I saw light passing over, turned around and returned. And was not disappointed: The beef tongue was excellent, also the vegetable bed on which it was crimped. As a friend of a hearty beer, I did not feel the gifted Zwönitztaler as a taste experience.

Cell phones are out, jackets can't stay at the table. The crunchy duck was cold, the skin was soft. Bratkartoffeln swore in fat.

I was the first guest of the evening and the service did not seem particularly satisfied. I ordered a lapping steak that was not special (hard and bad to eat) the roast potatoes and the salad were good. The meat didn't have the taste I expected from a fresh rag steak.

During our holiday we have eaten three times in Sole Sauerbrunnen and can recommend the inn. According to his own assessment he offers home kitchen and is rich and very well made. The quality of food was very good, the card offered a lot of choice. The decor is original and tasteful, and you can also dine on the terrace in front of the restaurant. The prices are in the cheap area and the owners are very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the food there.

If we are with relatives in the district of Mühlhausen/ Stadt Bad Elster, a meal in the Sauerbrunnen is essential. We know the host people of our many visits, have always been warmly welcomed. Everything just tastes great. My favourite food is: wild roasts and baked lumps with sponge sauce. The guest rooms are original and always decorated with love. The inn is closed on Wednesday afternoon/ evening and Thursday. You can park in front of the restaurant. The inn is at the same time pension and rents some rooms, but they are very much in demand. In case of interest, book in time! These are original, yet modern and, of course, they are supplied with breakfast on all days and can be excellently served here.
