Bidra med feedbackWe stumbled across the Latvian Lunchroom and were not disappointed. Having recently rediscovered my love for everything preserved and soaked in flavour I loved this place. Between a small group of us we ordered a couple soups, hotdogs, a vegetarian plate and another plate of all sorts, plus some drinks, and we loved it all. It was great trying completely different foods to what we were used to and I've now incorporated many of the foods we ate into my regular diet. We've been back again once and will definitely go again soon!
One word: yum. The lady who runs this joint is a bit eccentric but she will get your food to the table. We got the Euro hotdog which had things like sauerkraut and gherkins in it - absolutely yum as it had all my favourite things on one plate. Also don't miss the range of sauces on display - the dog paired with the beetroot horseradish sauce is to die for. Very satisfied.
Can never go wrong at the latvian lunch room! Homey style feeling with friendly smiling staff and authentic delicious food! Potatoes, sourcraut, piragi, beetroot and wonderful cakes go down a treat! DONT GO PAST THIS WONDERFUL EATING EXPERIENCE
Authentic Latvian dishes. The Herring salad is to die for: it's pickled herring with eggs and potatoes in a dressing. I've tried the polish version but I love the "fishiness" of the Latvian version. The fisherman's pot is perfect for the cold weather, it's smoked cod with potatoes in a creamy sauce, bargain price too. Sausages taste hand made. Definitely something special about this place, really tasty authentic food from the Baltic, lovely service. Great selection of imported European beer. I will definitely be having lunch regularly here. Prices are cheap as for the quality and quantity of the food.
We stopped in for a Latvian beer and some food while waiting for friends. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had a Latvian style beer that was made locally on their menu - and it was really nice. Wanting to try a bit of everything we opted for a mixed plate that had a selection of open sandwiches, pirags and other small pieces of goodness - all delicious.
