Great French food!My colleague and I were visiting from interstate. He and I were well satisfied by the rich and flavoursome fair we were served. The wines on offer by the glass matched our chosen dishes just nicely. After the week we'd had working and missing quite a few meals, this was exactly what we felt we deserved. Not expensive but what you expect from French.Elegantly rich, delish and satisfying. We had the tastes of duck, snails, beef fillet, and raspberry souffle. I'm not really a dessert person but this was the best souffle I'd ever had - just like its supposed to be: light and fluffy with a slightly crispy edge on top. Everything delivered on its promise.A low-risk try with great reward.Enjoy!
The service at this restaurant was excellent and the food was equally impressive. The three-course meal for $69 was a good deal. My rib eye steak was cooked perfectly!
My partner and I visited La Provence last Wednesday evening after attending an art exhibition. We decided to try the duck charcuterie platters with sourdough bread and truffle butter. The dishes arrived quickly and the flavors of the rillettes, sausage, foie gras, cured ham, and crackling were fantastic. The raspberry souffle we had for dessert was served in a charming copper saucepan, accompanied by champagne ice cream, raspberry sauce, and fresh raspberries. It was light, buttery, and absolutely delicious. Our dining experience was reminiscent of our recent trip to France, and we were impressed by the authenticity and quality of the food. Our waitress, Diane, was friendly and engaging, and we enjoyed our coffee and truffle to end the meal. We even had the opportunity to personally thank the chef for his amazing souffles. Our daughter also visited La Provence the following night and had a great experience. Vive La Provence!
I had high hopes for a wonderful French dining experience at La Provence. I had heard great things about the restaurant. The service was excellent and the presentation of the food was beautiful, but unfortunately, the meals did not meet our expectations. The duck was tough and chewy, and most of the dishes were served lukewarm. Although the flavors were good, we were hoping for a bit more passion from a high-end restaurant. I am willing to give them another chance, as other reviews suggest they can excel when at their best.
