Bidra med feedbackAnother unscheduled brunch during the walk of the art gallery, a really delightful vegetarian salad (zucchini, broccoli, sprouted lentils, goji berries unusual and so good) with 3 warm falafels. Beautiful varied menu. Quiet surroundings. External tables available.
We had a fantastic time to visit SAAG, especially as the Argie 100 was shown. We thought we'd eat at the café, our first time as a visitor. The staff was friendly and helpful, could not blame. We just wanted some simple and warming, soup it was. Unfortunately, the one who cooked it made pumpkin pulp. No taste, has not even tasted, and I guess no supplies used, and put another vegetables with it, maybe even a pesto garnish. I can see why people do not like pumpkin because this was boring and had no taste. It really turned me off. The cook must pass the Penny University and taste soups there, could not fail and ate there for lunch every day. What a difference, chalk and cheese as they say. And I'm not a complainer, but you have to learn how to make soup.
We have visited here three times before on trips to Adelaide and been very happy with both food and service. The location is pleasant, with both internal and outside seating looking over a grassed area and nearby historic buildings. Management must have changed as this...time we were very disappointed. The menu is now limited, unexciting, quite expensive for what they provide and certainly not value for money. A number of items on thin Monday! . Our coffees were cold and had to be returned, a search party needed to be despatched to find the very meagre filling in a reuben sandwich and the service was slow and lackadaisical. What a shame!
I found out that the restaurant had a new management and it did appear to be slightly different. I believe in giving new people a chance, so I won't be too harsh. The service was good and friendly. The menu seemed to have fewer options than before, but I'll give them time to adjust. The main course of whiting was really good, but both desserts were a letdown. My panna cotta was supposed to be light and delicate, but it was heavy and had a strong flavor. Despite this, I will come back because I enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant.
We entered this cafe without a reservation (apologies!) and were quickly seated by a friendly and efficient staff member. It was a sunny day in early January, during school holidays, with many people around. We had a delicious lunch and were impressed by the reasonable prices, diverse menu options, cleanliness, and the friendly staff. This cafe stood out above the rest, offering a classier experience without the steep prices. Despite being busy, the staff handled the pressure well.
