Restaurant Grill on Åboulevarden delivers a solid dining experience that suits every occasion. The food is not Michelin-caliber, but it is tasty and offers good value for money. The menu is varied and the quality is the kconsistens. The atmosphere in the restaurant is comfortable with a set-back vibe that makes it easy to relax and enjoy a good meal. One of the big pluses is their extensive drinks cards that complement the food well. Here you will find everything from classic cocktails to more innovative blends. The service is friendly, although there can be busy on weekends. All in all, a good restaurant for a relaxed evening out, without costing a fortune.
The Madklubben is for me good food for the price in the form of simple, well tastes honest dishes which are not for pretentious. However, our last visit did not meet the expectations. For the starter we got tatar and crisp gris . Tataren was as you could expect while crisp pigs maybe not gave up so many expectations as it is a wide term, but the pig was a set rectangle of the tender pig meat that had a slightly frying paste (during themselves). But was unfortunately overlaid with mayonaise and served with soya marinated cucumber it was close to unpretentious of salt. No acid to balance and therefore a little disappointment. We had 4 striploins of which were all medium-rare, despite 1 was ordered as well don. The kind can happen and we just asked to get the fried little more. 2nd time it was still red, but had consistency as a well don. My first thought was that they probably used meat with nitrit salt in, which is not something wrong in, but it gives a bad experience for people who prefer well don. For it must also be said that sides and sauces were sitting right in the closet. For dessert we got one of each, and they were as comfortable as always on close their french toast. All too much caramel as completely overwhelmed the modest amount of strawberries. In addition, the Karamellen still had sugar crystals, so it was in no way cooked through and tasted only by brown farin. In the theory, the strawberries should probably break the sweet caramel with acid, but not when compared is so uneven. All in all we were a little disappointed. It can seem as small mistakes but the overall feeling just gives an expression of the tastes is slightly out of proportions and does not meet the standard that is usually put on the food clubs in Aarhus.
