Bidra med feedbackI went to eat at a quaint Showa-era diner after visiting the Mugi Awabi Festival at the end of April every year. The parking lot is located on the opposite side of the restaurant, on the left side near the entrance. The restroom has a unique flushing mechanism with a water gun. The elderly lady running the place was very friendly and engaging, chatting with us throughout our meal. The tonkatsu set meal was generous in portion, and though the fruit accompaniment wasn't shown in the photo, it was a nice touch. The meat was tender with little fat. The chashu in the ramen was soft and the dish was surprisingly light in flavor. The fried rice had a nostalgic taste of Showa-era seasoning that I would love to taste again. It seemed like many locals were placing takeout orders over the phone, as the line was quite busy. During my visit, there were even foreign couples and pilgrims enjoying their meals. I definitely want to go back again.
I love the nostalgic taste of okonomiyaki cooked on a teppan grill that is rarely seen these days in the old-fashioned diner.
I was drawn in by the appearance and had a great dining experience. Thank you for your hospitality. I will definitely visit again.
