Bidra med feedbackWe went to this island . and we have lunch there. All the waiter and waitress so friendly. We have a seafood plante . and coconut water The seafood plante include a whole grill fish some shrimps. one lobster.of course some taco. It is very fresh and good taste.
We went to the restaurant based on the Tripadvisor reviews, big mistake. We ordered the shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and a small shrimp cocktail. The shrimp tacos were cut in small pieces and the size of the tortillas for the tacos were about the size of a small orange. The shrimp and fish lacked flavor. The shrimp cocktail had about 10 small shrimps and didnt have any flavor. Beware when you pay for your meal, pay the exact amount or leave what you want for a tip. Our meal was 430 pesos and I gave them 500 pesos. The waiter returned with 20 pesos for our change. We questioned him about the 50 pesos he was missing and he stated that it was a gratiutiy. I guess at this restaurant they determined from you change how much they are going to steal for a tip. I wasnt going to argue for 50 pesos, so we left. From what I saw on the island, go back to the mainland (Ixtapa) and eat a restaurant there. It appears that they will rip off tourists.
We would check in with some cool pineapple drinks, linger then order a tapa stype lunch right on the shoreline - sometimes the waves lapped the steps. Ricardo was our man and he couldn't have been more welcoming and expert in his service.
The seafood is incredibly fresh and I recommend you try it all. Its very reasonable and they try very hard. If I had one complaint its that I'm an early morning person and the restuarants don't open until 9AM and there is no where you can get an early cup of coffee. La Perla that's located up the beach from Hotel El Pirata, I recommend you avoid. The service is lacking and I'm 100% sure my last day case of food poisoning came from them. I know putting something like that in a review can be the kiss of death but length of time after eating and everything else adds up to La Perla. I would avoid it.
Ya know, you have to have your first margarita somewhere and this is a great place to start. Super friendly staff (Carlos) and quick service. Definitely will return for another drink and appetizers soon. Lovely location on La Ropa. Great value as well.
