Lighthouse Guesthouse - Zanzibar

8 nights at the Lighthouse Guesthouse was a dream honeymoon. Originally, we were worried that our budget would not be enough for much of a honeymoon, and we were just hoping to find a place- any place- somewhere in Zanzibar. The Lighthouse Guesthouse exceeded our expectations by far. For $40 per night, we were given a simple, charming room with a large, comfortable bed... lovely breakfast every morning, including fresh mangoes, pineapples, and passion fruit, and there was always more... maybe crepes, maybe hashbrowns, maybe eggs and toast. The beach is 50 m away... a 2-minute walk at most. We quickly made friends with the friendly hotel staff who were always around... they helped us with everything from getting a Zanzibar SIM card to making off-menu items for us per special request. It really could not have been more perfect, or a better value.

I spent a week here with the woman and the children. I can't praise it higher. From warm welcoming atmosphere to attentive and nurturing staff. No big resort, much more relaxed and chilled. 25 steps from the beach. This will be my preferred place in Nungwi, Zanzibar every time I come.

Loved this place, better prices than most others in Nungwi, friendly owners and lovely staff, the best breakfasts we’ve had in 4 months travelling around Africa. Only thing that could be better was shower water pressure and the rather slow fan in the room. We had a lovely stay though and easily 5*!

Amazing place to spend your holiday while in Nungwi area. Ksenia is a super host, very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is superb and ali, the chef is a maestro! Thanks for the beautiful experience!
