La Fenice - ZAFFERANA ETNEA

This restaurant is a real pearl, we booked to go to jurassic world and miniature Sicily and discovered this restaurant after we arrived. First thing we noticed was the beautiful location and furnishings the restaurant offers, it has a breathtaking view and is picturesque and elegant with cast iron chairs and other touches. Second was the attention to the COVID19 norms, the clients had ample space between the tables and the staff all wore masks and gloves. The toilets were sparkling clean and well stocked with soap and alcohol and hand towels. Next, the menu was a fixed menu which was not expensive and catered for all tastes from pizza to roast chicken. The amazing thing was they also offered us a different menu. We started with a tagliere of cheese and meat cuts which was generous and all delicious. Then we had the choice of two plates of pasta, one with pistacchio and speck and the other with toasted breadcrumbs and sardines, both were excellent. next we ate involtini of pork stuffed with cheese and tomato and traditional sicilian sausage which were cooked to perfection. For dessert there was a home made ice cream, pistacchio and chocolate and a liquore cream of pistacchio follower by coffee serve in a paper cup with a wooden stirrer. A perfect end to the meal. We had 2 bottles of red wine and a large bottle of water. My son had a pizza which was excellent, really light and tasty. The whole meal cost 85euro which was excellent. Thoroughly recommend. Staff attentive and pleasant, place clean and attractive and food tasty and well presented.

We arrived and the was spectacular! From the entrance you can see the whole Gulf of Catania!!! The place is warm and friendly. The food is well cooked but don't expect anything over elaborate....

We could have not stopped at a better place for lunch on the way to Etna. This place is located on the road leading to the top of Etna. It offers amazing traditional local food with incredible staff and prices! The view from this place is also spectacular. We were treated like family. One can also take a tour through the history of the island as this is also offered with the help of miniature iconic monuments. Truly recommendable !!!!
