The Wenlock Arms - York

I never wants pubs to struggle as it is difficult enough in these times for them Went for a Sunday roast with 7 of us for the first time as the family was up that way looking at a wedding venue. Everything was fine very friendly Apart from who ever is cutting the meat on the carvery needs to leave . He is letting the place down . I have have never had two thinner or small cuts of meat given to me . It was that thin it was like packet cold meat thin and small. It was clear that when I mentioned something he did say that what ever is left is for the staff to take . I asked twice for crackling as did most of my party and from this big bowl of it he cut you one tiny bit . I did notice as we were sat close to the carvery that a family came up he must have known he gave them loads of meat and cracking He was very ignorant and not a customer facing person . The ladies were lovely as were all the other staff . The veg gravy etc was great . Loads of that It’s a shame please sort him and do not ruin a great pub and eatery

Went for Sunday carvery. Food poor. Meat dry and tasteless,out under hot plates for too long. Veg selection dreadful. Service none existent.

Service was good. Young girl was very polite and nice to see helping an old gentleman to and from his car. The food was OK, but i would not rush back.

The menu offers a great variety of food options and the staff is friendly and accommodating. They were willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect.

This is a charming and welcoming pub with excellent service from the staff.
