Bidra med feedbackA true road trip destination. Cold beer, clean pool tables an a great catfish dinner on Thursday. Wonderful memories of Harold's from the 90"s. Its only open from Thurs to sun from 1600.
Harold's is a fantastic spot for a delicious, home-style dinner after an enjoyable paddle on the Combahee River (and make sure to save room for dessert!). Our group of four ladies celebrated the perfect culinary conclusion to our kayaking day with high-fives. If you’re feeling a bit down and missing Aunt Minnie's meatloaf or Grandma's jelly biscuits, Thursday potluck night at Harold's could be just what you need. You might want to consider taking the in-laws to Harold's instead of cooking at home— they'll love the garage-themed decor, and you won't have to deal with washing dishes. Harold's has truly earned its reputation as a local favorite. You’ll be eating off styrofoam plates, serving yourself from the hot bar, and possibly sharing a table with strangers who will soon feel like friends. Payment is handled at the entrance after you pass the bar at the front, and you can help yourself as many times as you want. The service is friendly, and you can learn a lot if you smile and engage with the staff. Just don’t expect fine dining here. Think vinyl tablecloths, brown gravy, and iceberg lettuce— it’s all nostalgic family reunion food from the 60s and 70s. Like I said, it’s tasty!
A classic Lowcountry restaurant that always feels like home when I come back. The Thursday potluck dinner, featuring whatever is on sale at the Piggly Wiggly, and the Saturday steaks are refreshingly straightforward. The bar’s beer selection is spot-on, and there are pool tables ready for a game. Though Harold has passed away—bless him—the warm, family atmosphere remains. Plus, the jar of pickled pig's feet at the bar might be older than me! Do yourself a favor: take the Yemassee detour (just be careful not to speed through town unless you want to meet the law and contribute to municipal funds) and settle in at Harold’s Country Club.
The buffet on Thursday night featured classic Lowcountry cuisine, and it was fantastic! The spice cake and biscuits were particularly excellent. The price is $13, payable by cash or card.
Very different place loved it
