Bidra med feedbackEasy access for an in and out day on the slope. Friendly staff and super trustworthy guest. I misplaced my phone by guest services and one one the guests turned it into the lost and found. Great job keeping the grounds well kept and clean!
Overall, the experience was awesome for a first-timer. Beware it can be very pricey $150-$180 per adult if renting equipment). The slopes were fun and had enough thrill for us. There are definitely higher and steeper adventures for the more experienced. They have a restaurant on site, a bar, free wifi, ski/snowboard shop for necessities, bathrooms, and plenty of parking and benches. Parking was free when we went on a weekend in April. Highly recommend if you've never gotten on ski's or a snowboard before. Every worker we came interacted with at the park was very kind and helpful. Be sure to get your free stickers and air freshener at the information cabin!
I've been snowboarding here for at least 10+ years, and it's my fave place to go each season. The trails are wide and spacious, always well groomed. All staff I've interacted with are polite and helpfull. This is the place where I started teaching my daughter too, she also loves it.
Super easy drive up from LA with minimal crowds on a Saturday in April. Still pretty decent coverage on the ground with almost every run open at the West Resort. They groomed most of the terrain leading to some great corn turns by mid day! Afternoon conditions here get pretty sticky this time of year though.
Took the family on a Sunday. This is the first time back at Mountain High in over decade, so I don't recall much from when I was a kid. We got there at a little past opening, at approximately 8:45 and the parking lot was full. We had to go to the east parking lot and take the bus back up because that's where the lessons and rentals were.Once we got the kids squared away, which was a rather painless process atop the moving walkway, I had to get my gear down the hill. The easiest part was getting the lift tickets cause we purchased them online and printed them out at the kiosks via QR code. Compliments to both the instructor the kids had. They were good and the kids had a good time. The RFID concept was good but the execution was shotty at times. Sometimes the gates for the lift would open just fine while other times it took multiple attempts or people to help. The line was another issue because oftentimes there wasn't really a system. There were 3 RFID gates that went into two or three lines that ended up being one for the lift. It felt like the intersection of two major freeways. The snow conditions weren't bad at the beginning of the day when the temperature was cooler. However, as the sun continued to rise overhead the warmer it got and the wetter the snow became. The chair lift operators had to constantly shovel snow to ensure there was enough for people to get to and off the lifts. With all that being said, having a ski resort less than 2 hours away from LA and OC is a luxury. Mountain High can get pretty crowded, but once you get up the mountain it wasn't too bad. You have to take the place for what it is, a ski resort close to home; therefore, you sacrifice snow conditions and open terrain for convenience.
