Saint Peter's Fish - Worcester

Despite having decent takeout fish and chips a few times, the main reason we frequent this restaurant is its proximity to our home. However, we find that the fish at Bath Road chippy is superior because they actually listen to our preferences for lightly cooked fish. On the other hand, we believe that the chips at St. Peter's are better.

I have grown up in St. Peter’s where my parents have lived my whole life, so I have ordered takeout from this fish and chip shop many times. The ownership of the shop has changed frequently over the years, with some experiences being good and others not so great. Currently, the food is average and nothing exceptional. However, my recent visit left me feeling very disappointed. I waited in line with my son for 40 minutes just to order a single portion of chips, only to be told that I had to spend £5 to use my card. Feeling pressured to spend more, I ended up paying £8.50 for my order. When I asked the server about this minimum spend requirement, she admitted that many customers are caught off guard by it. I also noticed a small sign hidden in the corner stating the minimum spend policy. I suggested to the server that the owner should make this policy more prominent to avoid customer frustration. Be cautious when visiting this establishment!

I have ordered fish and chips from this restaurant many times without any issues. However, on the 7th of August around 6pm, the mini fish I picked up was extremely dry, practically just batter with very little actual fish. It was so disappointing that I couldn't even eat it. This was very unusual as this place has always provided good service in the past. I'm not sure if I want to order fish and chips from here again anytime soon.

Friendly staff and consistently good fresh food,cooked to perfection! Portion sizes are also HUGE great value for money! No wonder it’s always so busy! Batter is always thin and Chrispy and chips are always cooked to perfection. Can’t fault this place and the proof is in how busy it is!

Sorry but, the portions were a bit mean. Cold thick chips, soggy fried fish possibly cooked from frozen. Could do better.
