Bidra med feedbackThe restaurant appeared to be more like a café with no tablecloths or cutlery on the tables. We had heard about the market lunch special but were told it was no longer available, despite it still being advertised on their website. We ended up ordering two entrees each instead of a main meal. My salt and pepper calamari was extremely tough and difficult to cut with a knife. This special lunch was supposed to be a treat as a thank you to my friend for all her help recently. Upon arrival, we had to navigate around tools left by a worker in the front reception area with no warning signs, posing a safety hazard. I reached out to the restaurant via email about our disappointing experience, but have yet to receive a response after two weeks. Needless to say, we will not be returning.
I went with a group of 15 friends for lunch and paid $65 for two courses, expecting something spectacular for the price. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the quality of the food. My main dish was bland and tasteless, with small serving sizes that felt overpriced. For dessert, I had a small bland cake that did not justify the high cost. The restaurant did not have clear group booking and payment options, and we were surprised with the expectation of separate payments after our meal. When four of us only had cards, we were told to go to a nearby cash machine to withdraw cash. The management was unhelpful and rude when we asked for assistance with card payments, leading to a 20-minute ordeal before they reluctantly agreed. While the location was nice, the high prices did not match the lackluster service we received.
I recently booked the anchorage for a test run for my 50th birthday. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the early afternoon because of my wife who test positiw on covid. the next day I noticed $150 fee on my credit card, I called the restaurant this day and wanted to know why I was charged. they said it is an automatic charge that is generated on the system due to the cancellation. they said that they would refer to the manager as I wanted to try out the restaurant and covid was the reason for the cancellation. manager did not contact me for two weeks, so I called and asked for them. she was sympathetic for my circumstances for cancellation and offered me a $100 gift voucher that was asked for my email and said it would be sent. two more weeks passed and nothing else I tried to call a few times, but had no success. After 5 days I received a reply that I have misunderstood the superior and there will be no good ticket for cancellation 24 hours ago. not happy with the result above all to be honest and do the right thing. 50th birthday possibly 40 people will not be at the anchorage wollongong. very disappointing.
Location great, small cozy atmosphere. great service. beautiful view of the harbour. seafood platter was good, but not great. other meals were good. cocktails were very good, especially espresso martini. beautiful that we have gone, but a better value can be found. total 4/5.
I’m not sure where to start, from the booking, arriving, being seated and the food it was all exceptional. The staff are all very professional and friendly. The three ladies that served us, really knew how waiter staff should operate in restaurant like the Anchorage....The food was beautiful. We had the seafood platter, it was lovely and fresh and plentiful. They have renovated the restaurant and it is now light and fresh. Still a great location for a nice romantic dinner or a small get together. It is so nice to have a restaurant in Wollongong that know how customers should be treated when in an up market restaurant. Would highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be going back.
