The Surrey - Woking

I have lived in Woking as a kid and been to this place a few times. Now this place is spot on. Food was amazing, very warm welcome soon as we walked in. Greeted by Amie and chef kosta. Nothing was too much trouble. Had a large party of 13 people, food was amazing and didn't take too long at all. Had a nice chat with Jo and Joe about how long they have been here. All very friendly with the kids and brought out some treats for the kids. Can't wait to come back. Well worth the hour drive

Usually, when we eat here service is good and the food tastes fine. although this time disappointed and ruined father’s day for me. we waited 35 mins for food which is understandable but when we tried it, it was cold and the steak was unseasoned and had no flavour. it was disgusting. The chips to the chicken burger were stale and the cheese wasn’t even melted (because both meals were cold). Overall disappointed and not sure if i’d return.

Just had gammon and egg chips peas very nice and not over salted, Very friendly guv and staff . We will be back.

Waited 50 minutes for our food, which was disappointing when it arrived. Burger buns inedibly solid, very little salad given as a side and a whole meal missed off an order, cited as a ‘miscommunication’ from the server. Staff seemed unhappy to help and could only suggest the missing meal was ordered from scratch which was unappealing as an option given the near-hour we had already waited. Free dessert was offered but quite frankly I couldn’t be bothered to wait. In short, food was underwhelming if/when it eventually turned up and staff were unhelpful.

Food is great value for money and well cooked, but would like it served on a conventional plate rather than the two separate dishes on a board. Sabina is a fantastic waitress and is a credit to the pub, she is extremely friendly and very hard working. Car park could do with some pothole repairs especially when entering from the road. Overall a pleasant few hours out.
