Good Earth Restaurant - Winnipeg

Good Earth is solidly a good spot for Chinese. The prices are more than reasonable (lunch buffet is 14.99) and portion sizes generous. If you are going for the buffet they have more than reasonable food options options (I think it was about 9) including wonton soup. Their wonton are fresh and the broth tasty. Service is prompt, friendly and the restaurant is acceptably clean. I particularly like the way they prepare their mixed vegetable dishes... The veggies are crisp and crunchy... Not overcooked and soft at all... Saucing is tasty and diverse. I will definitely eat here again when craving wonton soup or mixed veg.

After reading positive reviews about the buffet, I had to try it. Service was excellent and the place was clean, but that's it for the positives. The food tasted good as well but was heavily battered. The honey chicken fingers were about 70% batter, chicken balls about 50% batter, the dry ribs also heavily battered. Extremely unhealthy but at $14.95 you are getting what you pay for.

The best Chinese buffet I’ve had in years. Everything was fresh and full of flavour. Hats off to the chef!!

For the first time in over 20 years I have to say I 'm Extremely disappointed. The food has been changing since covid. Don 't get me wrong I know the blowback some long term customers will dish up.I ordered my usual Good earth special and was sad to say the Dog ate most of it. There was no more onion, no bok choy, no anything but stringy celery and sad looking broccoli, and under cooked carrots that tasted like a mouth full of dirt. Now you throw Cabbage in as a filler and pass it off as normal .The veal I also ordered was chewy and drenched in oil.I love the staff. I loved this place. However being charged for all the little things, like soy sauce and chopsticks to fortune cookies I didn 't ask for, too having the delivery driver BEG for a tip before even ringing your meal threw was just to much.I should have just thrown my $38 bucks out the window and only ordered the consume soup. It was the only thing that was correct .The buffet has also gone to the birds.Sad to say i 'm in search of a new chinese place.

We love the buffet here starting with the delicious won ton soup. Everything is so good and freshly made. The place is clean and the staff are so nice and friendly. We recommend it.
