Salty's - Winnipeg Beach

A Winnipeg Beach institution. A lot of memories wrapped up in this place for a lot of people. Always makes me sad to drive past it at the end of the season to see it closed down, signifying the end of another summer out at the lake.<br/ <br/ They serve everything from fried chicken to pizza to burgers, fries, poutine, hot dogs, perogies you name it. The burgers are always satisfying and I have never had a disappointing poutine experience. <br/ <br/ They do have a separate ice cream stand that even serves slushies. The ice cream stand is where they lose a point with me. I am a fan of soft serve, but their soft serve is never perfectly creamy the way it should be. Theirs is always just a little bit gritty which I find extremely off putting. <br/ <br/ But when you drive past on a sunny Saturday and see the packed parking lot believe me it is for a reason. Well worth a visit.
