Great food, fantastic service. the went for osterbrunch decided for the eggs benadict with pulled pork was not safe, but I regret nothing that was amazing. a little wait, but it's worth it.

Stopped for an impromptu late lunch this afternoon. My wife and I were traveling with my daughter and son-in-law and 19 day old granddaughter. We chose this particular restaurant due to the tidy curbside appearance the location (side street off Main) in the middle of Middleburgh and that it was after the lunch rush on a Saturday afternoon. We were overwhelmingly surprised by this gem of a restaurant. We were warmly greeted by Gina, hostess and our server, who guided us to a spacious table in one of their pristine dining rooms. She was personable, and quite knowledgeable of the history of the venue, and experience and resume of the chef/proprietor, the menu and dietary options as she explained certain entrees and made recommendations based on our tastes and questions. The service and attention we received was equal in superior quality and taste of our entrees. Delicious cauliflower soup, homemade hand cut corned beef sandwiches, burgers and entree salads. Just outstanding. Gina also shared seasonal specialties and optimal times to visit. We'll definitely be back. Kudos to all who are responsible for this marvel in the midst of the Catskills.

We included the pizza palace for our sons rehearsal dinner September 27th, best decision ever! The trailer is absolutely beautiful and looked great. The oven impressive and equally gorgeous! They were a pleasure to work with setting up the event and continued to serve us professionally throughout the evening. They came when they said, were ready to serve us, and left without a trace. They left us the last of the cobbler nicely backed up. Quality and quantity well worth the price. The eggplant meatballs, pizza, cobbler were fantastic. All of our guests said it was the best rehearsal party they had ever been to. You cannot go wrong with the Hen and the Hound. We will definitely work with them again!

We did not have reservations and the restaurant was packed but the staff went above and beyond to get us a table. The staff treated you like family. I noted they treated every table like family. Food was beyond words. I had a pumpkin risotto and the flavors were perfectly blended. For dessert an espresso creme brulee. I think I would the dessert daily. So smooth and creamy with overbearing coffee taste. I almost forgot the drink. It was a Harvest sangria made with Chi tea. It was like an apple pie in a glass. I will definitely be back multiple times
