Castleton's Waterfront Dining On Cobbetts

Odd venue. Rude staff. There's no...space. My group rental consisted of the ballroom, hallway with two small benches, restrooms, and foyer with an obnoxious artificial waterfall. That's it. There was no lactation area, no place to change an ostomy bag, no place for a Downs Syndrome family member to take a break. There are very few indoor places to be, if you are outside the ballroom. I asked two different staff members where I could have some space to attend to the above bodily functions, and I received blank stares, mumbles, and a negative answer every time. “Well, you are not supposed to be here.” “What are you doing in here? The door was supposed to be locked” (It wasn't. “This is too close to the bar.” (So? I'm well over 21. Overall, I'm happy for my family member who had the celebration here, but this was not a family-friendly venue at all. My advice is to “Find someplace else”...because that is exactly what I was told by your staff members.

Had my daughter's wedding reception at Castleton Banquet and Conference Center located in Windham NH. The property, over looks a beautiful lake, which was perfect for the outdoor ceremony, except for the occasional local wahoo boating by. However, for the most part they were very respectful. The whole event was organized very well, Food was fantastic, from the appetizers to the main course. When I saw no knife except a butter knife on the table when the filet minion came, I was a little worried, but it was so tender it essentially cut like butter. A big shout out to the wait staff and the bartenders, they were best. Overall a fantastic place experience at a wonderful place.

My friends and I attended a concert and had pork medaleon for lunch. When I ordered the pork I was afraid that it might be dry the way pork usual is in my experience. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the pork was the best I have ever eaten. All of my friends stated the same. Tasty , Tender , Can I take the leftovers home? (no, they could not). I know that we will be returning there again. I will always remember my meal at Castleton Banquet Conference Center.

My husband and I recently went for Waterfront Dining on Cobbetts, and had the most wonderful overall experience. The food was average. It could have used more seasoning, and the medium steak was well done, but everything was fresh, so we appreciated that. The views and grounds were incredible, but what I wanted to focus on was the Service. It more than made up for the food! We have traveled all over and eat out quite a bit (too often), and this place has the best staff we have had the pleasure of dining with. We were greeted by Diane, and Patti was our server. Both were attentive, friendly, and helpful. Diane, the hostess, greeted us with the biggest smile and was so welcoming. She walked us to our seats and even offered to move our table so we could have the best view. We closed the place down, and we decided last minute to get a gift card for friends we knew would love the experience. She restarted the POS system to do this for us, even though it was late, she could have asked us to come back another day. Patti was so helpful with food and drink selections. She checked on us often but was not intrusive. Even the younger staff moving tables at the end of the night smiled a lot and made conversation with us. There was an acoustic guitarist playing in the background at just the perfect volume. It enhanced the experience. Some places we've been the music has been obnoxiously loud. Clearly their focus is on top-notch service and they seem to enjoy working together. We were so impressed and look forward to going back.

I’ve been there about a dozen times and the food is 5star food delicious. Great drinks too. I highly recommend this place. Plus the view is awesome along with a gas fire pit with rocking chairs around it. And then there is a musician there. It’s a fantastic experience.
